The Company
Our company was formed in 1987 by Bob Allan, inventor of the Allan Block. Bob followed this up with three years of internal field testing, engineering and product refinement to confirm his new product's capabilities. From these test projects we published our first engineering and installation manual and prepared to take the Allan Block to market.
We launched the Allan Block Company in 1989 at a trade show in Cincinnati and introduced a new way of building with concrete blocks to the National Masonry Industry. Our goal was to build a network of licensed manufacturers all across North America and bring Allan Block to the marketplace.
In a span of less than two years we grew from one manufacturing facility in our home base Minneapolis location to 32 manufacturing locations all across America and Canada. We were launched, and our new network of licensed manufacturers began introducing the Allan Block in and around their local communities. Allan Block projects, both large and small, began popping up everywhere.
Today the Allan Block Company continues to grow and continues to innovate. Our licensed production locations around the world manufacture and supply Allan Block products for residential backyard landscapes, and for major commercial, municipal, and industrial projects too. Every day.
With over 35 years of experience and over half a billion Allan Block installed in hundreds of thousands of projects, we can safely say the Allan Block has been tried, tested, and proven to be a remarkable and reliable building solution for shaping the landscape.
